Thousands of “fragrant meat†lovers flocked to Yulin in eastern China last weekend to feast on what the locale is most famous for – dog meat.
More than 15,000 dogs will be slaughtered to feed these visitors in a bid to prove that Yulin has the best dog meat in the world.
These dogs are raised in farms for human consumption and farmers in Yulin are highly respected for raising dogs specifically for the dining table.
A local says, “It’s just like other meat. The smaller ones are more delicate and sweeter, while the bigger dogs have a strong, muscular taste.
