Fiber help eliminates constipation and helps regulate bowel movement. And because of this, toxins are flushed out of the body such as the fats that could build up inside. It will help in making the body absorbed nutrients better and have more energy. This energy is so helpful in making our body active such as doing exercises/workout and make us lose weight naturally.

So it is really important that we could have enough fiber intake. Some common sources of fibers are fruits and green leafy vegetables.

Fiber-rich foods are important for people who want to lost weight. As you have said it "helps regulate bowel movement" and flush out toxins. Before, I initially thought only fruits is rich in fiber, however, there are vegetables and food. We're a fan of Eggplants, carrots, potato when it comes to fiber rich vegetables. Apples, Papaya, Avocado, Mango and banana in fruits. But of course we have to be careful with some of the fruits we eat, as some may trigger sugar level.

It is essential to eat fiber rich foods such as fruits daily only for a certain amount of the day. If unregulated, the natural sugar present in fruit might also be a cause of weight gain. Eat 2-3 fruits a day, it is already enough. Moderation in food intake is important if you want to trim those extra fats.

We have found that flaxseed is a good way to get more fiber into the diet, and also add a little omega-3 fats, which are beneficial for the brain and joints. We put flaxseed in yogurt or oatmeal for breakfast and sometimes add it to other dishes. Even a teaspoon or two a day is extremely healthy. Dried fruits like prunes, raisins and dried apricots are also good sources of fiber.

I put flaxseed together with some other nuts as toppings when i take oatmeal for breakfast. Oatmeal on itself is plain and bland. Healthy toppings like this makes eating it more bearable. Lol

Oatmeal and Fibre Cereal contain lots of fibre so eating a bowl a day would be perfect. I know a lot of people like to buy white bread, but once in a while switch it up and get whole wheat. Also lots of fruits and vegetables have fibre. In no time you will be getting lots which is really beneficial to your health.

I've read about the benefits of fiber and how a person can remain full longer if fiber is consumed. But for me if I were to eat just fruits and vegetables, I get hungry very fast. I wonder how much fruits and vegetables should I eat to curb the hunger? Someone told me that if I switch immediately to an all fiber diet and cut all meat, I will go through a protein withdrawal. That is why I am feeling hungry even after eating enough fruits and vegetables. Is this true?

I try to make sure every supper time there are some vegetables. If I don't eat vegetables for two days continuously I get constipation so I know how important they are in my body.

I tried to start taking in more fiber. I actually find that the powdered fiber supplements aren't bad. I like the one's that are flavored. You can drink them with your favorite meal instead of some sort of sugary drink. Fruits also don't keep me full very long. If I eat them as a snack I'm hungry shortly after that. Beans, on the other hand, can keep me full for hours.

Another good option for fiber is psyllium supplements- you need to drink a lot of water when you take them, but they are a great way to boost fiber intake and are still all-natural.

Fiber in foods help to burn the fat and also to build the muscles, so fiber is helpful for the weight control purposes.
Eat more fresh fruits and raw vegetables in your daily diet to get rich amount of the fiber for the weight management.
Fruits such as apple, pear, orange, grapefruit, and peach are more effective for this weight loss purpose.

I agree with you. There are lots of benefits you didn't mention in your thread. I would like to share couple of others benefits over here:

High fiver diet foods like fruits and vegetables supply plenty of bulk to your meal without adding a lot of calories, they keep you feeling full longer and help you lose weight.

Do you know, a low fat diet works only if it's also rich with high fiber diet.

Rich healthy foods like fruits, vegetables and whole grains, all of which fill you up on fewer calories and less fat.

In contrast, a low fat diet that is low in fiber and high in sugar, salt and preservatives can lead to bloating and weight gain.
