Sorry I have to take this yahoo news comment and post it here:
The problem with their idealism is that they dont know when to stop: they think $1 trillion reserves is a good thing and not enough, they think top foreign CEOs is best for the country, they think $4 million salary for President is reasonable, they think that using charity donations to pay NKF's high Presidential salary is peanuts, they think PRs should be able to buy flats and should be a close second in primary, secondary and tertiary education, they think reserves should not be spend on nursing homes and lifts for every flat because they are consumption, they think we should have another 2 million immigrants.
They think that astronomical ministerial salaries are required to stop corruption at the top. If a candidate, no matter how smart, demands and justifies such a salary scale, then he/she should be in the private sector. Just like social workers, political appointees perform a social work and respond to a social calling. If $500,000 a year is not enough to raise a family, then how do ordinary citizens raise theirs? If $500,000 is not enough, then he/she is not temperamentally suited for the job. It takes a certain mindset, a certain passion to take the job. But no, they have made the ministerial job, a monetary calling. They lump various groups as residents in their statistical report. They present data that stretches the truth.
If any government cannot make a clear distinction between citizens and residents of a country, it is about time to change it. These are not ideas from a first class government, these are ideas from an elitist misguided self-serving government.
"Every example listed here is fictitious. Any resemblance to real people or things, living or dead, is purely coincidental, although we urge you to reflect on why this resemblance so striking. We hope you-know-who(they who must not be named) will not bother themselves with this insignificant truth."
