I have something more to add. I have come to understand why Singaporeans repeatedly make decisions that are detrimental to them on all levels. Patently most citizens are more comfortable with the current political stability and do not wish to see it quivering yet. PAP had and still stands for what a stable government and a politically secure country are all about. Despite hastening the coming of doomsday, people are unwilling to move beyond their comfort zone.
An awesome analogy: fat people(NO OFFENCE!!!). Everyone ladden with excess adipose tissue knows exactly how to lose those pounds of misery; the whole world is full of cures for that(exercise regimens and all). The mentally-sound path to becoming more normal is shoved into their faces everywhere they go, every way they turn. But why, why don't they lose weight, ever(generically speaking)? Because they are not ready for change. They are not ready for an overhaul of their lifestyles, eating habits, etc. They resist change because remaining status quo is comfortable and seems like the only way out because the effort is not worth the risk(is it?).
Haha anyway let me digress:
