My husband has had some eye issues and has been taking Lutein for over 6 years. I just added Astaxanthin to his daily supplement list. His eyes had improved on the last visit to the eye doctor. Both of these supplements nourish the eyes.
We do eat lots of carrots and spinach which is also rich in Lutein. Other Lutein foods are egg yolks, corn and dark greens. However, you cannot get enough Lutein from food when you need extra.
Thanks for this thread. I wear contacts and had been concerned about my eye health. I know about vitamin A. I just started taking a multivitamin with iron and it contained lutein. I have noticed some improvement in vision and I've been taking it for about 2 weeks. I will keep this one on my list.
Yes been hearing or watching some adverts about supplements with lutein that could help improve eyesight although have not tried or consumed it yet. And could attest on the effect of eating carrots since we do usually include carrots on our dishes and it help us have better eyesight.
