I don't really see how it's even encouraged in Singapore with the weak commercialised environment. Although I do say I'm very much interested in it myself.

edit : On a side note this can be put under Workout Routines. There's really no need for powerlifting to deviate from weightlifting as a whole since there's no clear distinction as to whether or not we have powerlifters, strongmen or bodybuilders in this forum

Powerlifting is not seen as "cool" in Singapore. Most ppl gym to get lean and for guys, lean and buff bodies

singaporeans do not really know what is powerlifting la. most actually jus call it weight lifting.

i think people got this mentality that competitive weight lifting is dangerous and doesn't really have much future if u pursue a career in it(quite possible)

Actually the correlation between powerlifting and being lean is kind of misleading because of the top lifters nowadays. You guys should see the other unsung heroes and neighbourhood lifters in countries all around the world - you'd be surprised that there're many different kinds of people who powerlift.

Well I must admit that powerlifters r really strong..but it looks like many of them do not have a well chiselled, define lean body with a good V cutting. correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not too sure about powerlifting..
