Clipped off The Business Times.

The truth is - public housing is no longer affordable for everybody anymore, and prices are continually increasing. There's no such thing as minimum wage in Singapore, 80-year-old women are cleaning up plates after you in the hawker centre, amongst the many things that is wrong with this country.

I have to admit, there are a lot of comforts that comes with Singapore, but it is also these comforts that have made us a complacent, lazy and ignorant bunch.

At the end of the day, I think that if you're unhappy with your situation, whatever situation you're in, make a choice. You always have a choice.

it's pretty obvious. we will never see our CPF monies at retirement. All goes into the 'affordable ' public housing.
Plan 2 - sell your home to encash at retirement and buy a studio apt going at $200k for 60sqm now for a 30 yr lease.
