"The minute that you understand that you can poke life and actually something will, you know if you push in, something will pop out the other side, that you can change it, you can mold it. That’s maybe the most important thing. It’s to shake off this erroneous notion that life is there and you’re just gonna live in it, versus embrace it, change it, improve it, make your mark upon it.

I think that’s very important and however you learn that, once you learn it, you’ll want to change life and make it better, cause it’s kind of messed up, in a lot of ways. Once you learn that, you’ll never be the same again."

and.. his thoughts on failure.

"Most people never pick up the phone, most people never ask. And that’s what separates, sometimes, the people that do things from the people that just dream about them. You gotta act. And you gotta be willing to fail… if you’re afraid of failing, you won’t get very far."

Notice Steve's unblinking stare when he looks into the camera.

As Walter Isaacson says in this incisive biography, Jobs behaved like a Nietzschean superman, using his will – transmitted through an unblinking stare – as a remote-control device that compelled others to do his bidding. - The Guadian, peter Conrad (Oct 30, 2011)

"[In high school Steve Jobs] learned to stare unblinking at people, and he perfected long silences punctuated by staccato bursts of fast talking." - from steve's bio by walter Isaacson

Be willing and not afraid to fail. I think that is a key factor that is holds true for many successful people out there.

i think his take on never picking up the phone, most people never asking is still quite true in our community today. Steve is a good example of being daring to do things that many are afraid to, embarrass to, or just to plain lazy to do. i think that is what make him stand out. it takes quite alot of balls or craziness to call up the CEO of HP at the age of 12..
