Errrm seeing how so many of you people having progress logs,i decided to create one for myself.
unlike most of you guys,i do not gym,lift weights, run (long distance at least) or bench/squats/whatever.
However, i've just started Boxing.
not kickboxing, or muay thai,just plain ol' boxing.
So well,here's my log of my boxing adventures/misadventures.
I've started learning for 1-2mths,on and off,since i'm still in national service,training is very limited,though i would skip and all on my own time. i've sparred twice, and got trashed on my first ever spar ,with some indian boy 8kg lighter than me (his fist were heavier than mine, i'll touch on this later)

so well.here goesssssss...

Ok,so i've started boxing. the thing i took 1 mth to learn was how to jab.a nice clean jab,a jab so efficient that you break through your opponent's guard and smack his nose/chin. and that took me one mth to , not master, but learn. the jab is executed with your non-master hand for the orthodox boxing stance (left leg forward, boxing stance with right leg forward is known as southpaw)
and what do you know,the jab started out really awkward, cause i am not accustomed to punch with my left hand (just like how i am not accustomed to kick with my left leg) . and many a time i would feel frustrated about not being able to just "zham" with my right hand,my master hand. but i preserved,and now jabbing with my left hand feels really good, though it've got less strength than my right,it feels good.

anyway,some boxing jargon/numbers
jab = 1
cross (masterhand) = 2
hook(with front hand) =3
hook (with the other hand) = 4
uppercut (with front hand) = 5
uppercut (with the other hand ) = 6

i'm trained by some random old guy :) like a sensei! and he trains a couple of angmohs too.boxing in singapore is a rather indian dominated sport,so there're a lot of indian trainers at where i train (singapore amateur boxing association)

The only boxing instructor I recognise so far and trained one of my army mates before is Mr Kadir... Didn't know it was dominated by the Tamil... Interesting!
