I know there are a lot of fad diets out there, but which one seems to work for you? Are there any that you would recommend in particular?

I tried fad diets such as no carbohydrates but instead of shedding off the pounds, I regain weight twice. Right now, I just eat in moderation, some exercise and drinks lot of water. If you think that you can able to control the urge of eating too fast and eating too much, I guess, this one rights for you. Besides, it depends on every individual what diet she's comfortable.

A few years ago I stumbled on an eating plan - created by the British 'food guru' Patrick Holford. It is so thorough, balanced and highly effective that it is truly amazing. It is called the Patrick Holford Low GL diet. It is eating for health and any extra pounds will just naturally melt off - and fast too. The bonus that I love about it is...that you somehow access so much energy.

I do two-week stints of limiting all grains and sugars and anything that contains them and I drop off the pounds. I also during those stints eat every 2-3 hours- 3 meals and small snacks all the other times- so I am never hungry. I still eat fruit and vegetables because I can't do a truly no-carb diet, but just getting rid of sugar and bread and such *really* has a huge impact on my weight.

I once lost 10kg in about 6 months from not dieting at all. I ate whatever I wanted. I was living with my parents and my mother always cook fish and vegetables for lunch and dinner and also the occasional red meat and poultry but usually she'll just cook fish and vegetables.

I ate whatever she cooked and I love her cooking, I must say. What I did which I think helped me achieved my 10kg weight loss was that five days a week, I would walk 5km each day. It's not the athletic kind of walk. It was just a leisurely walk around the park. And I managed to lose 10kg with that activity. So I believe that besides eating healthy, you need to exercise too in order to lose weight and maintaining it.

I've tried a couple of diets lately but so far they're not working, I think since its a healthy balanced diet it is helping me gain more weight. Plus I guess sleeping late or not enough is adding to the reason why I'm gaining more weight. I remembered someone said that sleeping less than 6hours can lead to people gaining weight. The only way I can lose weight is by doing moderate exercise daily. I'm thinking of taking swimming lessons if not belly dancing :D

I've noticed that if I take a vitamin supplement, I gained weight so I have since stopped taking supplements and rely on the food I eat for the nutrients that my body needs. Since I'm not malnourished or anything, the doctor said I don't need to take any extra supplements.

I've also heard that sleeping too little can lead to weight gain because I think if you're not sleeping, you'll be eating. That is why you gain weight. Belly dancing is an interesting and fun activity to do to lose weight. I should try that too. LOL.

Thats correct. You compensate for the lack of energy due to sleep lose by eating carbs. :p
LMAO. Now that you mentioned it, I've been taking vitamin supplement for quite a time now. Could be the culprit. Healthy balance diet plus vitamin supplement = gaining weight. LOL. My sister have been encouraging me to take slimming pills instead of other supplements. :p

Well, eat more boiled vegetables and fruits and exercise more is my way to lose weight. Never take in oil and meat. Eat less staple food.
