What kind of creatine is healthier?

There are so many types of creatine available. Is creatine monohydrate the healthiest?

it could be short term and long term, the chances of inflicting damages to ur organs by consuming the creatine

creatine monohydrate has been out for the longest time eh.. nothing much negative reports about it. so i guess u can assume to say its the "safest" to consume

So I consumed my first dose of creatine today and my..
Within say, 15mins?
My body started to get a burning sensation..

Feeling pumped, I decided to do some push-ups and dam it felt like a piece of cake.. hah!

Anyway I juz had a spinal surgery 6months before and Im still super worried that going back to gym would hurt my spine :(

Any inputs?

hahah i think its a mental thing that u feel it is a piece of cake. u need some time for the creatine to enter ur bloodstream... r u doing creatine loading?

wow.. spin surgery! most exercises will affect the spine.. got to be careful to siam those exercises.. best is let ur body recover more first. avoid gym for now.. that is just my take.

i don't see how creatine can fuck anybody's organs up. it's technically in most meats we eat anyway. doesn't really matter what form of creatine you use if you don't know what you're doing or if you're just using it to make up for holes in your diet.

@acemiki : this is purely your choice. if you're still worried about being injured at this point i don't think there's any reason for you to lift weights, especially if you lack the confidence. it may just exacerbate things. however i strongly believe that you should try to go at least twice a week for now and see how things work out. start doing light deadlifts as well, it does help. especially if your spine herniated before.

@sinful: Like it feels hot and suddenly u feel powerful.. and when I do the push ups my arms dun feel so stressed up.

@xzibit: Yes im doing the creatine loading..

@PWiD & xzibit: Ya the exercises that I do will affect my spine to a certain extend.. but I limit my exercises to those that do not laterally load my spine.. so far still figuring how to work my shoulder and arms.

Current exercises are Bench presses, upright row as well as butterfly chest press.

miki, i've worked with friends who have herniated discs and i myself have problems with my back one in a while.

my suggestion to you is to continue gymming as you would. i don't see a point in flashy stuff like butterfly bench presses. your erector spinae (lower back/spine) is worked in every major compound movement you do (bench etc. etc.). it'd be better for you to bench, squat, deadlift(start light for now, we want to slowly strengthen your core muscles).

forget all the non-essential movements that you don't need. you wanna train arms it's quite fine, just make sure you lift a weight that you can handle and not have to ruin your form and thus hyper-extend your back just to bring the weight up. there's a reason why people can pull off growth just by sticking to the compound movements for years, and i personally don't see a reason why anyone should strain their bodies doing all that extra work when they can grow much faster by focusing on the major lifts.

p/s: the deadlifting and squatting will help you strengthen/recover your back, without a doubt. you just need a spotter and consistent effort not to ego-lift at this point of time when you're not used to it

you can consult your doctor, ask him if doing deadlifts and squats can aid in your back recovery..

and one more thing. because creatine draws water to your muscles, back pumps might be irritating when you're squatting or deadlifting, although i highly doubt that will happen that often.
